Diphtheria claims one more life in Malappuram

Kozhikode: A 14-year-old boy from Malappuram, who was admitted to Kozhikode Medical College with symptoms of diphtheria, died early morning on Thursday.

Muhammed Afsaq, a class IX student of Cherukavu school in Pulikkal, was admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital (KMCH) on Wednesday evening due to complications of Diphtheria.

Earlier this week, Mohammed Ameen, a Tanur native, had died due to diphtheria.

In 2015 September also four cases of diphtheria were reported in Malappuram, two of whom had died.
