45 mg of methanol found in Mani’s body, states CFSL report
text_fieldsHyderabad: The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad has in its report on actor Kalabhavan Mani’s death stated that about 45 milligrams of methanol was present in his body.
The finding of the quantity of methanol in the actor’s body by the Central lab is almost twice the amount reported by the laboratory in Kakkanad in Kochi.
Earlier, a lab in Kochi had found traces of toxic pesticide in his body, which was ruled out by the Hyderabad lab.
On Saturday, the state government had announced its decision to hand over the case of Mani’s death to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A notification was issued by the Home secretary based on the recommendation of the state DGP.
Mani passed away at a hospital in Kochi on March 6. The 45-year-old had been hospitalised for liver ailment where he was admitted in the ICU in a critical condition.
