P. Jayarajan’s anticipatory bail plea rejected
text_fieldsKochi: The Kerala High Court Thursday rejected CPI(M) district secretary P. Jayarajan’s anticipatory bail plea in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case.
On Wednesday, the CBI had submitted before Kerala High Court that CPM Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan, the 25th accused in the murder of RSS leader Kathirur Manoj, is the brain behind the case.
“Jayarajan is the central source, kingpin and mastermind of the deadliest criminal conspiracy hatched out by the accused persons to eliminate the victim and defy law and order by casting terror among the public,” the CBI affidavit said.
Jayarajan was arraigned by the CBI as the 25th accused in the case and charged with offences including under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
42-year-old Manoj, a district functionary of RSS, was hacked to death in Kathiroor in Kannur district on September 1, 2014.
