Saudi registers 355 patients on a single day; three deaths
text_fieldsRiyadh: Saudi Arabia registered 355 new Covid cases on Thursday, marking the highest number on a single day. With three deaths on Thursday, the total deaths in the country rose to 44.
The fatalities included one each from Makkah, Hofuf and Jubail.
The total number of infected cases rose to 3,287 of whom 45 were newly moved to intensive care and in serious condition. 35 patients have recovered. Total recovered cases now stand at 666.
The breakdown of new cases are: Madinah-89, Riyadh-83, Makkah-78, Jeddah-45, Tabuk-26, Qatif-10, Yanbu-4, Taif-4, Diriyaha-4, Hofuf, Onaiza and Al-Kharj two each, Khamis Mushait, Ahad Fareeda, Bisha, Al-Bahah, Riyadh Al-Khabra and Najran one each.
Al-Kharj lying close to Riyadh is recorded Covid for the first time with two cases.
Capital Riyadh is the worst affected with 961 infected so far and three deaths. 267 have recovered and 691 are still under treatment.
Makkah ranking below Riyadh has so far found 637 positive, with 114 recoveries and nine deaths. 508 are under treatment.
Madinah tops the list in number of deaths with 19. 397 are still under treatment and four have recovered. In the commercially important Red Sea city of Jeddah, 477 confirmed cases were recorded of whom 346 are under treatment, six dead and 125 recovered.
