Woman run over by SUV in Jaipur was trying pacify a fight: Police

The two, who were her acquaintances, got into an argument, and one of them jumped into his car and ran the other along with the woman, who died at the spot, NDTV reported.
The CCTV footage of the gory incident was widely shared on social media.
According to police, the 25-year-old victim, Umar Suthar, went with her friend Rajkumar to a hotel in the Jawahar Circle area. Later, Rajkumar’s friend Mangesh Arora also reached there. Both men started drinking and got into an argument, which they took to the outside, and the time was 5:30 am.
The argument escalated into a fight, and the woman intervened to defuse it. However, Arora got into his SUV and rammed Rajkumar and Uma. Rajkumar got injured.
Uma worked at an event management company. Her father is a carpenter, and her family, which includes her younger brother and sister, largely depends on her earnings.
Arora’s neighbours in Mother Teresa Nagar, where he lives alone in a flat, are shocked that he could do such a thing.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Gyan Chand Yadav said that the police are investigating the incident. They are speaking with the hotel management to understand the sequence of the incident.
