Will kill Salman Khan on April 30, caller threatens; police start probe
text_fieldsMumbai: The Mumbai Police control room on Monday received a threat call targeting actor Salman Khan.
This is the latest of the several death threat calls that Bollywood actor has been receiving over the past several months.
Identifying himself as Rockey Bhai from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, the caller introduced himself a Gau rakshak( Cow vigilante), NDTV reported.
After Rockey Bhai said the actor will be eliminated on April 30, police started an investigation.
The threat comes weeks after police arrested a man identified as Dhakad Ram for threatening the actor via email on March 26.
Dhakad Ram is a resident of Luni in Rajasthan's Jodhpur district and was handed over to Mumbai Police.
The accused reportedly stated in the mail that Salman Khan will end up like ‘Sidhu Moose Wala’, who was killed by gangsters in Punjab a few months ago.
A joint action by Mumbai and Luni police led to the arrest of Dhakad Ram, said Luni Police Station Officer, Jodhpur Ishwar Chand Pareek, according to the report .
The Mumbai police has given Y+ category security to Salman Khan after he started receiving more death threats.
The Maharashtra government stepped up the actor’s security after he received death threats several times previously, reportedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
