What does Biden in the White House mean for Modi government
cancel

As the self-proclaimed close friend Donald Trump gets replaced by Joe Biden in the White House, things might not be all that favourable for Modi. Though Trump often makes headlines for anti-India comments, Modi and Trump hold each other in high regard and claim to be close friends.

It is yet to be seen if Joe Biden will stand together with Modi's gimmicks. Biden has been publicly against several of Modi government's initiatives. As a democratic candidate, he had publicly condemned the Indian government regarding its approach to Kashmir and CAA.

Biden had demanded that the rights of the Kashmiri people be reinstated. He had also condemned NRC in Assam. Though Modi personally called for votes for Trump, off the five states with the most number of Indians, four have been won by Biden.

Though Vice President Kamala Harris has got Indian roots, she too had voiced against the Central government. Kamala expressed her dissatisfaction about the Kashmir issue to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on his visit to the US. Though Harris and Biden had declared that they will forge diplomatic ties with India, the new conditions in the White House do not seem too favourable for India.
