Viral train video triggers outrage over ‘public nuisance’
text_fieldsMumbai: A viral video showing a group of passengers singing and dancing loudly inside a train has sparked widespread outrage, with many accusing the group of creating a public nuisance and showing disregard for fellow travellers. The footage, widely circulated on social media, captures a large family group occupying space in a coach while engaging in loud celebrations, even as other passengers appear visibly disturbed.
The video prompted sharp reactions online, with several users condemning what they described as a complete lack of civic sense and basic public behaviour. Many pointed out that such actions disrupt the comfort of others and reflect an attitude of entitlement, as if public transport were a private space. Critics also highlighted that the group’s conduct caused significant inconvenience to co-passengers who had paid for a peaceful journey.
The issue gained further traction after it was amplified by users on X, where similar incidents were shared, suggesting that such behaviour is not isolated. Some users noted a pattern in which large groups booking multiple seats often assume control over entire compartments, ignoring the rights and comfort of others.
Responding to the controversy, the Mumbai Division of Indian Railways acknowledged the complaints and expressed regret over the inconvenience caused. Officials requested affected passengers to share travel details to facilitate action, while the Railway Protection Force was instructed to intervene and address the situation.
The incident has reignited debate over public conduct in shared spaces, with many calling for stricter enforcement of rules to ensure that passenger rights are respected and such disturbances are prevented in the future.
