Sangareddy: An animal rights activist say that over 100 stray dogs have been poisoned in the Siddipet district of Telangana, according to India Today.

Village sarpanch and the gram panchayat secretary of Thigul village of Jagadevpur mandal hired professional dog catches to do away with the dogs, activist Goutham complained to the police.

They killed the dogs injecting them with poison on March 27, according to him.

Police started probe into the complaint after registering a case based on the complaint.

The gruesome incident came out after a video of the carcasses lying in a pit was uploaded on social media.

The activist has taken up the incident with Siddipet Collector and Siddipet Police Commissioner demanding to suspend the village sarpanch and secretary.
