Video of IMF Chief Kristalina Georgieva dancing with folk dancers at airport goes viral
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The Managing Director and Chairman of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, who arrived in New Delhi to take part in the G20 Summit, danced along with a team of folk performers who were at the airport to welcome her.

As she stepped off the plane Georgieva was greeted with a vibrant and culturally rich performance by a group of artists showcasing a traditional folk dance set to a Sambalpuri song. The display of India's cultural heritage left an impression on the IMF chief, who expressed her appreciation by applauding the artists and even joining in with a few dance steps of her own.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared a video on Twitter capturing this moment, which has since garnered significant attention, amassing over 19,000 views and numerous likes in just a few hours. "Difficult to resist #Sambalpuri beats. MD International Monetary Fund Ms. @KGeorgieva arrives in India for the #G20 summit to a #Sambalpuri song and dance welcome. #OdiaPride," he tweeted.
Social media users were quick to respond with enthusiasm, with one commenter stating, "Absolutely wonderful, Proud moment for Odias," while another praised the display of culture, saying, "This is the strength of our culture and music."
The G20 Summit, set to commence tomorrow at the newly inaugurated Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, is expected to host some of the world's most influential leaders, including US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and other heads of state.
Discussions will revolve around pressing global issues, and the event will also feature top administrators from international organizations such as the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank.
