UP woman beaten to death for opposing Holi celebrations

Etawah: A 60-year-old woman was beaten to death and five of her family, including two women and three children, injured after they opposed a group who were celebrating Holi outside their home, informed the police. The inebriated group barged into the woman's house in Mevati Tola locality at around 10 AM and beat her to death with stones and sticks, informed the Additional Superintendent of Police (city) Prashant Kumar Prasad. The five members of the family were injured after they tried to save her, the police added.

Additionally, in Ekdil, a drunken youth over speeded a tractor and injured six people, hitting an electricity pole. The injured have been hospitalized, informed the police.
