New Delhi: In a defamation case brought by Eknath Shinde's aide Rahul Ramesh Shewale, the Delhi High Court on Tuesday summoned Uddhav Thackeray, the head of the Shiv Sena (UBT), MP Sanjay Raut, and MLA Aditya Thackeray.

Shewale sued the three for defamation after they made claims that the Shinde-led Shiv Sena group had paid 2,000 crore rupees for the party symbol.

While appearing for Shewale, senior advocate Rajiv Nayyar prayed for the court to pass an injunction order to restrain them from making any further defamatory claims, Justice Prateek Jalan said that an order will be passed only after having the response of parties.

The court listed the case for the next hearing on April 17.
