Bhopal: A senior BJP leader laughed at former Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath's statement that he would lend his car to anyone leaving the Congress believing their future is secure with the BJP.

Kailash Vijayvargiya took a jibe at Kamal Nath saying that if the Congress leader thinks so, he will have to buy a lot of cars since many Congress leaders are planning to join the BJP.

Vijayvargiya was in Jabalpur visiting Jhoteshwar to pay tribute to Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati Maharaj, according to India Today.

Alongside this response from BJP, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed Kamal Nath's remark "an insult to the workers".

Shivraj Singh Chouhan was quoted as asking how a party that does not respect its workers do well for the people.

On Sunday, Kamal Nath said the Congress would not stop anyone from leaving the party.

He added that someone quitting the party does not mean the Congress is over, and further he said if anyone believes their future is safe with the BJP, he will offer his car to them for leaving the party.
