Tamil Nadu CM Vijay appoints personal astrologer Radhan Pandit Vettrivel as political OSD

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has appointed his personal astrologer, Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel, as Officer on Special Duty (Political) in the Chief Minister’s Office.

The appointment was confirmed through an official government order signed by principal secretary Reeta Harish Thakkar.

“Thiru Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel is appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister (Political) with effect from the date of joining,” the order stated. It added that detailed terms and conditions would be issued separately.

Vijay took oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on May 10 after the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerged as the single-largest party in the Assembly elections with 108 seats and later secured support from Congress and smaller parties.

Radhan Pandit Vettrivel is a well-known astrologer with around 40 years of experience in Vedic astrology, numerology and meditation-based guidance.

Originally known as Pandit Vettrivel, he moved to Delhi in 2008 and adopted the name Radhan Pandit. According to media reports, his clients have included politicians from multiple parties including the BJP, Congress, DMK and AIADMK.

He was among Vijay’s most vocal supporters during the election campaign and had publicly predicted the actor-politician’s rise in Tamil Nadu politics in 2024.

Pandit had claimed Vijay’s horoscope indicated “tsunami-like” political success and predicted that the TVK leader would become Chief Minister with more than 150 seats.

He had also said Tamil Nadu temples would be elevated to world-class standards under Vijay’s leadership.

A YouTube video released by Pandit in 2024 explaining why Vijay would succeed in politics had gained attention during the election season.
