The ruling DMK is leading in the early trends of the Tamil Nadu assembly election count, followed by the AIADMK and actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
As of the latest trends, DMK is ahead in 21 seats, AIADMK in 9 and TVK in 3.
The Election Commission of India has deployed a three-tier security arrangement at all counting centres as vote tallying gets under way for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Votes from 75,064 polling stations, along with postal ballots, are being counted at 62 designated centres for the 234 seats.
