Rhea Chakraborty, 32 others named in NCB chargesheet linked to SSR's death case
text_fieldsThe Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a 11,700-page charge sheet on Friday before a special court in Mumbai in connection with the drugs case filed following actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, NDTV reported.
NCB submitted its charges against 33 accused persons at the NDPS sessions court including Rhea Chakraborty, nearly a year after Sushant's death in June, 2020.
NCB has named Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant's house help and several drug peddlers in the case.
The charge sheet included WhatsApp chats between the accused, their Call Data Records, and bank documents, among other evidence.
In the last week of August, NCB had filed an FIR in the case. The chargesheet had to be filed within 180 days of the FIR and therefore NCB has submitted its chargesheet on Friday.
It is also to be noted that during the course of the investigation, several people were questioned and summoned to the NCB office.
The charge sheet including witness statements from 200 individuals is nearly 12,000 pages long in hard copy and about 40,000 pages in digital format.
The chargesheet has been filed at NCB's NDPS sessions court, which will now accept the chargesheet. The chargesheet will also be given to the accused persons and the court will now give a hearing date in the matter after which, regular hearing will start.ormat that was submitted in the court on a CD.
