Trinamool Congress MP Satabdi Roy has expressed emotional support for Mamata Banerjee despite backing a rebel faction within the party that has decided to support the NDA in Parliament.

Roy, a Tollywood actor who entered politics under Mamata Banerjee's leadership, is serving as deputy to rebel "Chief Whip" Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. The group of 20 rebel Trinamool MPs has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla stating that they will support the NDA.

Speaking about her decision, Roy said she believed she had made the correct political choice but admitted to feeling conflicted personally.

"I feel politically I made the right decision. But emotionally and morally I'm wrong," she said.

When asked what message she would like to convey to Mamata Banerjee, Roy replied, "I miss you, Didi!"

The remarks come as the Trinamool Congress faces growing internal dissent following its electoral defeat to the BJP.

In the West Bengal Assembly, at least 60 MLAs are reportedly backing first-time legislator Ritabrata Banerjee, who claims to represent the "real Trinamool". In Parliament, the group led by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has announced support for the NDA, citing the people's mandate.

The party has also suffered another setback with Trinamool MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray resigning from both the party and his parliamentary seat. Ray publicly criticised the party while announcing his departure.

The developments have deepened the political challenges facing Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress as the party attempts to contain a widening rebellion within its ranks.
