Pregnant Muslim woman alleges denial of treatment by doctor in UP’s Jaunpur

Jaunpur: A pregnant Muslim woman has alleged that a doctor at the district hospital in Jaunpur refused to carry out her delivery on Tuesday night, claiming she would not treat Muslim patients.
In a video that surfaced on social media, the woman, identified as Shama Parveen, said she had been admitted to the hospital around 9 a.m. but was denied medical care despite being in labour. “I lay on the bed, but the doctor refused to treat me and even told others not to send me to the operation theater,” she alleged.
Her husband, Arman, backed her account in another video, saying, “The doctor checked all the patients but refused to attend to two Muslim women, including my wife. She deliberately skipped them.”
Parveen further alleged that when she confronted the doctor and accused her of discrimination, the doctor continued to ignore her. “I told her she was differentiating between Hindus and Muslims, but still she ignored me,” she claimed.
