Irregularities in the competitive tests conducted by NTA triggered scathing protests across the country.

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Friday the fresh dates for the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test, the National Common Entrance Test and the Joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, scroll reported.

The tests were either carried out earlier and cancelled or deferred after allegations arose suggesting paper leaks and other irregularities.

The UGC-NET, conducted for the post of assistant professor in universities and colleges, will be held from August 21 to September 4, as per the fresh announcement. The exam was already held on June 18 but got cancelled the very next day, citing that the integrity of the test had been compromised. The question paper was leaked and circulated on the Telegram app, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on June 20.

The National Common Entrance Test, conducted for the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme in select central and state universities or institutions, was postponed hours before it was scheduled on June 12. The fresh date for the exam is July 10.

From July 25 to July 27, the Joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, conducted for the posts of Junior Research Fellowship and lectureship or assistant professor in universities, will be conducted.

Further, the NEET-UG exam has not been cancelled but is currently under the adjudication of the Supreme Court since the court is hearing a clutch of pleas demanding a rescheduling of the exam.
