No Christmas holiday for schools in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh
text_fieldsLucknow: The BJP-led Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh informed that schools in the state will have no Christmas holiday for students this year. The UP government has announced that schools will be working on Christmas Day and attendance will be mandatory. The UP government has directed that programs related to the birth centenary of late BJP leader and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee should be held in schools on this day.
However, Christmas Day is a holiday in many other states of the country. Of these, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Punjab will get a long Christmas vacation. Schools in Kerala, which are closed on December 24, will open on January 5.
Christmas holidays in Rajasthan are from December 25 to January 5. The Christmas holidays in Punjab are from December 22 to January 10. Christmas Day will be a holiday in the states of Delhi, Haryana, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, in the previous years, a holiday was given in Uttar Pradesh for Christmas.
