Navnirman Sena men slap Maha D Mart employee for not using Marathi
text_fieldsMumbai: In Maharashtra’s Andheri (West), Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers slapped a D-Mart employee for refusing to speak in Marathi with a customer. It was on Tuesday that the incident reportedly happened at the Versova outlet of D-Mart.
Regarding the incident, two videos surfaced online. The first one shows the employee speaking to a customer, and the second one shows the MNS workers harassing him.
A D-Mart employee was allegedly slapped by Raj Thackray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers after he refused to speak in Marathi with a customer. In the first video, the employee could be heard saying, “I will not speak in Marathi. I will speak only in Hindi. Do what you want.”
The customer asks the employee to speak in a calmer tone, to which he refuses.
In the second video, MNS workers surround the employee and can be seen slapping him. They force him to hold his ears in an apologetic form and apologise in Marathi. Later, one MNS worker threatened him, saying, If you want to live and work in Mumbai, you have to speak in Marathi. Otherwise, you can go to your village,” Siasat quotes.
The MNS workers made him apologise to Raj Thackeray as well.
