Muslim man, Hindu lover tied up, murdered and buried by her brothers
text_fieldsMoradabad: In yet another chilling honour killing, a 27-year-old Muslim man and his 22-year-old Hindu lover were allegedly tied up, hacked to death, and buried by the woman's brothers in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district, police said.
The victims, identified as Armaan and Kajal, had been in a relationship despite strong opposition from Kajal's family due to their interfaith union. Armaan, who had returned from Saudi Arabia three months ago after working there for four years, had fallen in love with Kajal locally.
The couple had been missing for three days when Armaan's father, Haneef, lodged a missing person complaint. Police investigation revealed Kajal was also unaccounted for. Questioning Kajal's brothers led to a shocking confession: the siblings admitted to murdering the couple.
According to the accused, they tied Armaan and Kajal's hands and feet before hacking them to death. The bodies were then buried on the riverbank. Following directions from the suspects, police recovered the decomposed remains late Wednesday evening and seized the murder weapons.
A murder case has been registered against Kajal's three brothers, with two already taken into custody. To prevent communal tensions in the area, a heavy police force has been deployed. Senior Superintendent of Police Satpal Antil confirmed that the situation remains under control.
Armaan's sister expressed shock, claiming she was unaware of her brother's relationship. The incident has once again exposed the menace of honour killings in Uttar Pradesh.
