Bhopal: The search across railway networks for 29-year-old Archana Tiwari, who disappeared while traveling between Indoor and Katni South station in Madhya Pradesh on August 5, has reached nowhere, The Indian Express reported.

Archana, a lawyer practising at the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s Indore bench, had been preparing for civil judge examinations staying in a hostel in Indore when her mystery disappearance was reported.

Packing her bag with a rakhi, a handkerchief, and gifts for children, she left the hostel that day to board the Narmada Express.

The reservation was confirmed on Coach B3, berth number 3 and she had boarded the train.

Her last known communication with family occurred at 10.16 pm that night when Archana called her aunt to say that she had reached near Bhopal.

When the train pulled into Katni South railway station the next morning, Archana did not come out to receive the embrace of her family waiting on the platform.

What was found in her pace was only her bag containing a rakhi, a handkerchief, and gifts for children.

Despite multi-state search, it remains a mystery what happened to the 29-year-old in what should have been a routine 12-hour journey home.

Nearly two weeks after her disappearance, her family now demands a CBI probe with her brother Abhishek saying ‘She was working hard to become a judge. We were expecting to see her on Rakshabandhan. Then she just vanished’.

The search is now focused on an area in Narmadapuram district where a cell tower ping near the Narmada Railway Bridge picked her last digital trace from the passing train.

It is reported citing GRP Superintendent Rahul Kumar Lodha that Archana’s last verified location was Itarsi railway station as witnesses also confirmed having seen her on the train.

Police continue to pore over clues as to what could have happened to her between that sighting and Katni station.

The Indian Express reported Lodha as saying that ‘She went missing on the day hundreds of people came to attend a local religious programme. We have multiple witnesses who have seen her. We think that she must have left on her own in such a situation. Common sense says she must not have been kidnapped from such a crowded place’.
