In his Sunday Mann Ki Baat radio address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spotlighted 10-month-old Aalin Sherin Abraham from Kerala's Pathanamthitta district—the state's youngest organ donor—who died in a February 12 road accident and was declared brain dead.

"The pain that her parents must be going through cannot be expressed in words," PM Modi said, praising Aalin's father Arun Abraham and mother Sherin for donating her organs despite unfulfilled dreams. "This single decision shows how big their thinking is and how vast their character is. There are many people like Aalin who have given another life to someone by organ donation," he added, noting rising awareness and medical advances.

The infant's kidneys, liver, and heart valves saved four children, including a 10-year-old at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College's S.A.T. Hospital. Organs traveled from Kochi to three Trivandrum hospitals in just 3 hours 27 minutes.

Health Minister Veena George lauded the family's courage. CM Pinarayi Vijayan attended the funeral, announcing a new state organ transplant unit named after Aalin, who received a state funeral as the youngest recipient.
