Man shoots himself in Karnataka; names BJP MLA in suicide note
text_fieldsRamnagar/Karnataka: A Karnataka man shot himself to death after writing a suicide note in which he named a BJP MLA and five others for making him take the extreme step, IANS reported citing officials' account on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Pradeep of Amalipura, near HSR Layout in Bengaluru.
The suicide note names Arvind Limbavali, a former Minister and BJP MLA from the Mahadevapura constituency. The five others include G. Ramesh Reddy, K. Gopi, Dr Jayaram Reddy, Raghav Bhat and Somaiah.
Police said that the deceased shot himself in the head, sitting inside his car.
He had gone to a resort near Nettagere in Ramnagar with his family to celebrate New Year's day on Sunday. He came back alone to the Bengaluru residence, wrote the suicide note and shot himself inside his car.
In his note, he urged police to initiate action against the five persons, who all are influential people and held them responsible for his death. He also added their mobile numbers in the note.
As per the note, the accused five cheated him of Rs 1.50 crore in connection with opening a resort and had promised to make him a partner in the business.
"The partners have betrayed me. I was supposed to get Rs 2.50 crore. BJP MLA Arvind Limbavali attempted to compromise, and I got only Rs 9 lakhs. After that, MLA Arvind Limbavali also did not help me," the death note says.
