text_fieldsKolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wished Eid Mubarak and called for unity between Hindu and Muslim communities.
Addressing people at the Red Road here, Banerjee said "isolation policy' was not good, The Indian Express reported.
On the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr West Bengal CM invoked BJP's slogan of "ache din' saying atmosphere of the country was "not good".
She asked people not to listen to those dividing Hindus and Muslims, also saying "we" wanted the good days that would bring everyone together, not" jhootha ache din" (fake good days).
Taking a swipe at BJP, she said divide and rule policy was not good just as isolation policy was not good.
Banerjee reportedly chanted the hymn "Ishwar allah tero naam, sabko sanmati de bhagwan, meaning Ishwar, Allah they are your names. Bestow wisdom on all, Lord!
Calling for peace in the world, she said nowhere else India has the unity found between communities in West Bengal.
