Malik calls cruise drug case a BJP conspiracy executed by Wankhede
text_fieldsMumbai: Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik who is spearheading the crusade against the NCB Zonal officer Sameer Wankhede reiterated that the cruise drug case in which Shah Rukh Khan's Aryan was arrested is the result of the BJP conspiracy to defame Maharashtra.
He said the BJP has been trying to defame Maharashtra, its people and the Bollywood industry for quite a time now using zonal officer Sameer Wankhede as its pawn.
Malik noted that the arrest of actress Rhea Chakravarty in connection with the suicide of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was the beginning of the BJP's conspiracy.
"They are trying to defame our Bollywood, and take it out of Mumbai to shift it to Uttar Pradesh," Malik was quoted by Indian Express as said referring to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath creating a film city in Noida.
Malik has levelled a string of allegations against Wankhede, including extortion, assuming job in revenue department by forging documents and illegal phone tapping.
According to the minister, the NCB officer was specially chosen by the Centre to "play games with the film industry".
Yesterday, Yasmeen Wankhede, sister of Sameer Wankhede, filed a police complaint seeking registration of an FIR against Malik for allegedly defaming her. She alleged that Malik was trying to defame her and her family members.
