Kottayam: A young computer engineer died after falling from his flat in Kanjikuzhi, Kottayam, on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Jacob Thomas (23), an Ernakulam-based private company employee who was living at Skyline Flat at Muttambalam, Kanjikuzhi. The incident occurred at roughly 5:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Prior to his death, Thomas had sent his mother a video message in the early hours of the morning. When the parents awoke in the morning, they discovered their son had died after falling from his flat, TNIE reported.

According to investigators, Thomas' relatives reported that he committed suicide due to overwhelming work pressure. According to relatives, Thomas had been working from home till late at night and was suffering from job-related stress.

Thomas began working as a software developer four months ago, after finishing his studies. The East Police responded quickly to the news and arrived at the location. The body was then taken to the Kottayam District General Hospital morgue. The police have registered a case of unnatural death.
