3 labours killed in an encounter by J&K Rashtriya Rifles, accuses CITU; lodged complaint before NHRC

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions( CITU) accused J&K Rashtriya Rifles on encounter killing of three labourers at Amshipora, Shopian, J&K. Citing the incident, the party also complained over human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir before National Human Rights Commission( NHRC) on Tuesday.
The complaint to NHRC was lodged by Om Prakash, General Secretary, J&K State Committee of CITU through Subhash Chandran, Advocate, Supreme Court of India.
The press statement issued by the party says that Imtyaz Ahmad, s/o Sagar Hussain, Ibrar Ahamad, s/o Bagha Khan and Ibrar Ahamad, s/o Mohammad Yousuf, all from Rajouri District and aged 18, 21 and 26 years respectively reached Shopian district on 16th July,2020 for work and went missing from 17th July 2020.
The complaint submitted by the party before NHRC expressed serious concern over such allegation of questionable encounter and demanded a thorough investigation. It demanded to put straight the factual aspects of the three missing labourers and alleged encounter.
The complaint says that the party is distressed to learn about the contradictory statements given by security forces and J&K Police and also says that there is no no clarity with respect to the fact as to where the 3 bodies were taken after alleged encounter or with respect to their burial and identification of the bodies.
The complaint also reminds NHRC about a similar incident happened in the year 2000 known as 'Pathribal case' in which the Ministry of Defence withheld sanction to prosecute the accused even though the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) established that the five men killed by the army and police were all civilians who had been abducted from in and around Anantnag just before being taken to the encounter site and murdered.
The party also demanded action against the human rights offenders in accordance with law, besides adequate compensation to the families of the victims in the complaint
