India's defence exports hit record Rs 38,424 crore in FY26
text_fieldsIndia's defence exports reached a record Rs 38,424 crore in the 2025-26 financial year, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday.
Singh said the figure represented a 62.66 per cent increase over the previous financial year.
"India's defence exports have touched a new all-time high with a record Rs 38,424 crore in FY 2025-26. It marks a robust 62.66 per cent growth over the previous fiscal," Singh wrote in a post on X.
The minister said India had moved from being primarily an importer of weapons to becoming a growing exporter of defence equipment.
According to Singh, India's defence exports stood at around Rs 600 crore in 2014 and have now risen to nearly Rs 38,500 crore.
He said the country was becoming a trusted global supplier of defence products.
Singh also appealed for political unity as the crisis in West Asia continues to drive higher global energy prices. "Our government is capable and ready to deal with every situation. This is the time for the entire country to unite," he said.
The minister said this was not the time for political divisions and urged all parties to come together during the crisis.
Singh also sought to reassure the public over concerns about fuel supplies, saying there was no shortage of petrol, diesel, or cooking gas in India despite disruptions linked to the conflict in West Asia.
He said India was fully prepared to handle any energy crisis and accused some people of spreading false information to create panic.
