Morphed image circulated by @noconversion.

Source: Twitter

New Delhi: An image of Congress president Sonia Gandhi addressing the camera with a bookshelf behind her holding the Holy Bible, a statue of Jesus and a book called 'How to convert India into the Christian nation', has been shared widely on social media by several, including BJP TN Secretary Sumathi Venkatesh, BJP supporter Renuka Jain and Journalist Meena Das Narayan.

Facebook groups Sudarshan News and PMO India New Delhi also shared the image, which first tweeted by Twitter user @noconversion.

Fact-checking website AltNews has identified that the image is a morphed screenshot of PTI from a video posted by Congress in October 2020 where Gandhi questions the Centre on farmers' protests and fuel price hike.

Neither the books Holy Bible and How to convert India into a Christian nation or the statue of Jesus features on the bookshelf. The image also sports a watermark of @nocconversion.
