Jhajjar/Haryana: After the son of former Haryana Minister Mange Ram Rathi allegedly committed suicide, consuming poison, six people, including Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) party state chief Nafe Singh Rathi were booked under charges of abetment, PTI reported

Police said that the deceased, 55-year-old Jagdish Rathi, committed suicide on Wednesday evening.

Waseem Akram, Jhajjar's Superintendent of Police, said, "Jagdish Rathi, son of former Minister Mange Ram Rathi, committed suicide on Wednesday evening. In this case, six accused have been booked for abetment."

Akram confirmed that Nafe Singh Rathi had been booked as an accused. But the leader wasn't reachable over the phone, PTI reports.

Officer Akram said, "Cause of death will be established after all reports are obtained once the postmortem is done. But the apparent cause of death is poisoning."

According to police, the deceased's family has alleged that some of the accused have harassed him in property-related issues, which pushed him to extreme stress. Rathi had made an audio clip on the same recently.

"On December 26, Jagdish had circulated an audio clip in which he has alleged that these people had been harassing him and if anything happens to him, they will be responsible," he said.
