Mohali: Two loco pilots suffered injuries after their trains collided at the Fatehgarh Sahib district of Punjab on Sunday morning, The Indian Express reported.

The trains, coming from the Ambala side, collided near Madhopur in Sirhind, officials reportedly said.

The loco pilots, who had been initially taken to Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital, were later referred to Rajindra Hospital considering the seriousness of injuries.

After being informed about the accident at 4 am, Station House Officer (SHO) Rattan Lal of the Sirhind railway police station claimed they immediately rushed the injured to the hospital.

The Ambala-Sirhind railway track is one of the busiest with hundreds of trains plying on it.

The police are probing whether the trains were on the same track or there was any other error behind the accident.
