Mathura: Four persons apprehended for allegedly reciting 'Hanuman Chalisa', a Hindu religion devotional hymn addressed to Lord Hanuman, inside a mosque in Govardhan area of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

On Tuesday morning, Uttar Pradesh Police came into action in Mathura where a video of four people reciting 'Hanuman Chalisa' inside a mosque went viral on social media.

No FIR has been filed against them, but the police have arrested four people so far who are identified as Saurabh Lambardar, Raghav Mittal, Kanha and Krishna and are booked for inciting violence and communal hatred. However, the boys claimed that the act was for initiating brotherhood between two communities.

In an interview given to Navbharat times SP city, Dr. Gaurav Grover told, "Mathura is a junction which has been promoting brotherhood and unity and is a great example for the coexistence of Hindu-Muslims for a long time now, we will not allow any anti-social element to exist or create communal tension between communities". "Strict action will be taken against anyone who will do so", he added.

Many people are looking at it as retaliation after two men offered 'namaz' (routine prayer of Muslims) in a temple.

Earlier on 28 October 2020, two Muslim men allegedly named Chand Mohammad and Faizal Khan found offering 'namaz' in Nandbaba temple located in Nandgaon of Mathura. In this case, FIR was also lodged against them by the priest of mosque 'Goswami' and alleged that these two men are the members of a social organization 'khudai Khidmatgar'.

'Qaumi Ekta Manch' is of the view that this can serve as a basis for promoting unity in diversity and this will further strengthen the bond between two communities.
