First batch of women cadets graduate from National Defence Academy
text_fieldsIn a landmark moment for India’s armed forces, 17 women cadets made history today as they graduated from the National Defence Academy (NDA) alongside their male counterparts at the prestigious Passing Out Parade.
These trailblazing cadets were admitted to the NDA in 2022 following a Supreme Court interim order that opened the doors of the tri-services academy to female aspirants for the first time.
Their graduation marks a significant step forward in the inclusion of women in India's military training institutions.
Marching shoulder to shoulder with over 300 male cadets, the women cadets showcased the culmination of two years of rigorous training, discipline, and perseverance at the Khadakwasla-based academy.
To honour the occasion, General Singh unveiled a special edition magazine titled "Breaking Barriers: Female Cadets." The publication captures the remarkable journey, challenges overcome, and achievements of the pioneering batch of women who helped redefine the contours of military education in India.
