Donning grey hair, spectacles, and a starched cotton saree, Kangana Ranaut on Thursday shared the first teaser of her next directorial, Emergency, where she plays the role of the former prime minister Indira Gandhi.

Dropping the teaser, she wrote, "Presenting 'Her' who was called 'Sir'. #Emergency shoot begins."

In the video, Kangana can be seen reading some official files, when a staff member comes inside the office and asked her if she can be referred to as 'madam' by the President of America. She then responds by saying, "Tell the President that in my office, people refer to her as 'sir' and not 'madam'.

Kangana who is also the director of the upcoming film is currently in shooting mode. Emergency is written by Ritesh Shah, and it has renowned prosthetic makeup artist David Malinowski, who worked for films like Darkest Hour, World War Z, and The Batman.

Earlier, Kangana shared her first look as Indira Gandhi in the film. She wrote, "Presenting #EmergencyFirstLook! Portraying one of the most powerful and controversial women in the history of the world."

Kangana's transformation has been done by Oscar-winner David Malinowski, who has worked on films such as Darkest Hour, World War Z, and The Batman.

Previously, Kangana had shared a newspaper clipping from 1975 and wrote, "These were the most dramatic events in the recent history of the world. What lead to the Emergency which was declared today and what were its consequence. In the center of it was the most powerful woman in the world. This deserves a grand-scale epic film of its own. So see you in the theatres next year with #Emergency".
