Eliminating all lines, India went online: PM Modi
text_fieldsGandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed on Monday that India going digital helped to change the lives of its people. Lauding digital technology, he also claimed that it has eliminated queues in the country after providing many services, PTI reported.
Addressing a meeting at Gujarat's Gandhinagar, he stated, "Eight to 10 years ago, we had to stand in lines (queues) for everything. We had to stand in line for birth certificates, to pay bills, for rations, for admission, for exam results, for certificates, in banks. How many lines we used to stand in? India has eliminated all lines by going online."
According to him, India must adopt new technology as time changes, or the country will remain backward. India experienced it during the third industrial revolution, the PM said.
He further claimed that the Centre's flagship programme Digital India relieved the poor from corruption and continues eliminating intermediaries from all fields.
