Delhi school girls attack schoolmate with blade in fight ‘over boy’
text_fieldsNew Delhi: A group of teen girls in Delhi's Rohini attacked a girl with a blade following an argument at the school, NDTV reported citing police.
It is reported that four girls cornered the 15-year-old outside their school on Tuesday.
The incident took place around 1 pm when the accused waylaid the victim.
A footage reportedly showed the girls pulling the victim’s hair, slapping before slashing her face with a blade.
The girl sustained deep gashes on her face, waist and back that took more than 20 stitches.
The attack stemmed from a fight that took place five days previously ‘over a male friend’.
Back then, the victim allegedly abused one of the girls who attacked her on Tuesday.
The girl then allegedly conspired with her friends belonging to a nearby school to ‘teach her a lesson’.
DCP (Rohini) Rajeev Ranjan reportedly confirmed that a 15-year-old girl was attacked with a blade on her face by a group of girls, adding that ‘At the hospital, she was declared unfit for statement, and her medico-legal case report was kept pending. Later, we found that four girls, all aged 14-15, carried out the assault.’
Police claimed to have initiated an action against the accused but a case was yet to be registered with Ranjan saying that ‘The other girls will be questioned and booked under appropriate sections.’
Meanwhile the victim told Hindustan Times that the group kept targeting her, hurling abuses, adding that ‘I don’t know why they called others and attacked me. They slit my cheek with a blade and tried stabbing me in the back’.
