Covid-19: India registers 3,824 in a day; highest in 184 days
text_fieldsNew Delhi: India registered 3,824 fresh Covid-19 cases on Sunday, a 27 per cent jump from Saturday as per the 8 am updation by the Union health ministry. The fresh count is the highest in around six months, The Indian Express reported.
India recorded 2,994 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday.
The number of active cases reached 18,389, and the cumulative Covid-19 tally reached 4.47 crore. After the reporting of five new Covid-19 related deaths, the cumulative death count reached 5,30,881.
As per the new update, the active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections. The national Covid recovery rate is 98.77 per cent, while daily positivity and weekly positivity rates are 2.87 per cent and 2.24 per cent, respectively.
The ministry update informed that 220.66 crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccine had been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
Further, Delhi alone recorded 416 fresh Covid cases, the highest count in over seven months in the region.
