Malda: A massive protest has erupted in West Bengal’s Malda after an 11-year-old girl was beheaded by her relative, NDTV reported.
BJP, Trinamool Congress and the CPI (M) have taken out protest rallies and silent vigils.
The girl's uncle, 27, was seen on a CCTV footage with the girl just before she went missing on January 29.
The man confessed to murdering her, despite initially trying to hoodwink the police.
The torso and the head of the girl were found in different locations in Malda city.
Police are investigating if he raped the girl before killing her.
The horrific incident led the people to demanding action against the girl's uncle.
The man has been arrested and sent to 12 days police custody, officials said.
