Camera caught 12-year-old girl left in bleeding, semi-naked after being raped in Ujjain
text_fieldsUjjain: In a deeply unsettling incident that has sent shockwaves through Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain district, a 12-year-old girl was subjected to brutal rape and was left pleading for help from door to door while bleeding and semi-naked.
According to the police, the young victim was discovered on Monday evening near Dandi Ashram on Badnagar Road, falling under the jurisdiction of the Mahakal police station.
She bore visible injuries, her clothes torn, and her body stained with blood, indicative of the severe bleeding she had endured. The girl had to implore for assistance in the Sanvarakhedi Simhastha Bypass colonies, as depicted in a distressing video that has emerged.
In the video, the girl can be seen desperately seeking aid, but residents turned her away. She continued her ordeal, walking for over eight kilometres and more than two-and-a-half hours, until she was finally assisted by a priest from an ashram on foot.
The priest provided her with a towel to cover herself and promptly transported her to the district hospital for a medical examination. She was transferred to an Indore hospital due to significant blood loss, where police personnel volunteered to donate blood to save her life.
When questioned by senior police officials, the traumatized girl struggled to provide coherent answers, given her understandable state of distress.
Ujjain's police chief, Sachin Sharma, reported that a dedicated police team had been formed to apprehend the perpetrator, and a case had been registered under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, confirming the rape.
The girl's accent suggests she may be from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, although she has not disclosed all the details and hinted at possible harm to her mother as well. An ongoing investigation is being conducted to unravel the complete truth behind this horrific incident.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath expressed his anguish on social media, decrying the incident and raising concerns about the safety of girls in the state.
