Chandigarh: The BJP spokesperson in Delhi, Tajinder Singh Bagga, got booked for alleged provocative statements against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the latter's comments on 'The Kashmir Files' movie. After a complaint by an Aam Aadmi Party leader, the Punjab Police charged Bagga with provocative statements, promoting enmity and criminal intimidation, PTI reported.

The BJP Yuva Morcha leader had claimed on Saturday that a team of Punjab Police had reached his home in the national capital to arrest him, but he was not aware of any FIR against him.

In a protest staged on March 30 before the CM's residence, Bagga demanded an apology from Kejriwal for mocking the fate of Kashmiri Pandits at the Delhi Assembly.

In his complaint, AAP leader Sunny Ahluwalia accused Bagga of making provocative, false and inflammatory comments meant to hurt religious feelings, promote disharmony and create enmity, hatred and ill-will. Along with Bagga, an unidentified person was also named in the FIR registered at Punjab State Cyber Crime Police Station in Mohali on April 1.

The charges on the two were relevant IPC sections, including 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place, etc.), 505 (whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumour or report) and 506 (criminal intimidation).

However, Bagga maintained that there is no FIR information at the moment. But the police have started tracking his friends, he added.
