Bengaluru: Police in Bangaluru are questioning a man on suspicion of choking his 25-year-old wife to death on Tuesday night, NDTV reported.

Navyashree's husband Kiran has been taken into custody allegedly for committing the crime.

A friend of Navyashree's, identified as Aishwarya, who stayed overnight at her place filed a complaint regarding the incident, according to police.

Aishwarya has told police that Navyashree called her on Tuesday morning saying she was upset over her marriage and wanted her to come over.

Subsequently, Aishwarya came to her home at Kengeri in SMV layout around 4.30 pm Tuesday, and later a friend of Navyashree’s, identified as Anil, joined them.

They discussed Navyashree’s troubled marriage over dinner with Anil advising her to file a police complaint against her husband.

Afterwards, Navyashree and Aishwarya dropped Anil home before returning to Navyashree's place around 11.30.

When Aishwarya woke up at 6 am next morning, she found Navyashree strangled to death and alerted the police.

Police suspect Kiran may have entered the house at night using his key and choked her to death.
