Bengaluru: The Rameshwaram cafe blast in Bengaluru's Brookfield area earlier this month injured nine people. The National Investigation Agency has made its first arrest in connection with the incident, which is a significant breakthrough.

The suspect, named Shabbir, was taken into custody from the Bellary area of Karnataka, according to India Today, which cited NIA sources. According to the report, the suspect is being questioned by NIA officials.

According to sources, the individual is thought to be the key suspect's accomplice. On the day of the explosion, security camera footage showed the suspect leaving a bag at the cafe, the New Indian Express reported.

A ₹10 lakh reward was offered for information leading to the identity of the bomber involved in the cafe blast by the federal anti-terror investigative agency, which assumed control of the investigation.

The agency also made public a photo of the bomber, which was taken in The Rameshwaram Cafe by CCTV cameras.

The bomber may be seen wearing black trousers, black shoes and a cap in the photo that the NIA provided.
