Bengaluru-based RTI activist Venkatesh attacked, maimed in broad daylight

Bengaluru-based RTI activist Venkatesh on Thursday was attacked and maimed by a group of miscreants with lethal weapons in Tavarekere near Bengaluru. The group severed his leg and hand in broad daylight in the presence of a public, a few meters away from the local police station

Venkatesh, who was bleeding profusely, was then shifted to a hospital, where he is under intensive treatment.

Venkatesh files RTIs about different departments of the state government. Three special teams have been formed by Ramnagar SP Girish to probe the matter. The police are also probing angles of rivalry and personal enmity. Further investigation is underway.
