Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar informed on Sunday about him inviting Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee to Raj Bhavan for a discussion on ensuring the sanctity of the House proceedings. He also pointed the blacking out of his address's live coverage before, PTI reported.

"In view of unwholesome situations during the earlier such addresses to the Assembly, including 'black out' of 'live coverages' of the address, I find it expedient to have an interaction with the Hon'ble Speaker so that sanctity of the proceedings is maintained and dignity of the office of Governor is not compromised," the governor wrote the speaker. A copy of the letter was posted on the governor's Twitter handle.

The governor has issued a call for the assembly at 2 pm on Monday on Mamata Banerjee's cabinet's proposal. This is after days of uncertainty over the timing of the House sitting after a typographical error in an earlier announcement mentioned time as 2 am on March 7.

The confusing and embarrassing of summoning the assembly happened after the typographical error on a February 24 proposal, state authorities explained, when it should have been 2 pm. On February 28, a fresh proposal for the House sitting was issued for 2 pm on March 7.

After that, the Governor asked the state chief secretary to clarify some procedural issues which were said to have been found in the fresh cabinet decision.
