New Delhi: Seven kids who are on the brink will return to life after the parents of a 6-year-old have decided to donate their daughter's organs to them.

Roli Prajapati, shot dead by unidentified men in Noida here, has become the youngest organ donor in the history of AIIMS, NDTV reported.

Shot in the head, Roli slipped into coma; doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi declared her brain dead, after failing to revive her.

AIIMS neurosurgeon Dr Deepak Gupta told news agency ANI that Roli's brain was totally damaged after a bullet got lodged inside. She was brought in at the hospital in a nearly brain dead condition, he was quoted as saying.

Subsequently, a team of doctors sat with the parents talking them into accepting organ donation. They counselled the parents, seeking their consent to save the lives of other children, the report said.

AIIMS doctor lauded the parents for donating Roli's liver, kidneys, both corneas and heart valve.

Dr Gupta reportedly said that the parents despite knowing little about organ donation understood the importance of saving lives.

Despite running an open donation facility since 1994, AIIMS have not got a young donor, the neurosurgeon revealed.

Roli's father Harnarayan Pratjapati told ANI that they thought about organ donation and decided that she would be alive in other people's lives and give others reason to smile.
