Shah Rukh Khan has turned actors into a ‘commodity’, says Sunny Deol
text_fieldsSunny Deol and Bobby Deol were the second guests on Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee With Karan Season 8, after Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The duo spoke about life, films, and the Deol family.
This was Sunny’s second appearance on the show after the first season in 2005 and the Gadar 2 actor didn't hesitate to be completely candid and open.
During the rapid-fire segment of the show, Karan asked Sunny some questions about his contemporaries Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar and one of his answers left Karan shocked.
Karan asked Sunny to name a good and a bad quality about Shah Rukh Khan. When speaking about his good qualities, Sunny said that SRK is “hardworking.”

But when asked about what he does not like about Shah Rukh, Sunny said, “What I don’t like about him is making the actors a commodity.” After Sunny’s answer, Karan looked visibly shocked and exclaimed “Oh God!”
Karan then asked Sunny to name a good quality about Salman, and the Gadar 2 actor called him a “good human being.” And while thinking of his bad quality, Sunny said, “I think he is making everyone into a bodybuilder.”
For Akshay, Sunny praised his “punctuality” and called it his best quality, but while speaking about his bad quality, Sunny mentioned that Akshay was “doing too many films.”
Sunny’s Gadar 2 clashed with Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2' but beat the film at the box office.

Talking about it on 'Koffee With Karan 8', Sunny said, "I thought 'Okay my film is releasing and I have not had a success for donkey's years'. And I did not want anybody else to come along with it. Well, but you can't stop anybody. So, obviously, it does hurt you. But then I was like does it matter? Let's go along with it. Eventually, both films went on to do well."
Sunny and Shah Rukh had a strained relationship for several years after the two worked together in Yash Chopra’s Darr. Sunny felt he was shortchanged as Shah Rukh walked away with the meatier part in the film even though Sunny had scored the hero’s part.
The two seemed to have gotten over this old feud when Sunny hosted a bash celebrating the success of Gadar 2, and where Shah Rukh made an appearance.
In an interview with Zoom, Sunny said, “On many occasions, even I have called him, we have shared our thoughts on certain things. The past issues, or whatever they were, I say time heals everything and we move ahead. That’s how life should be.”
During his recent appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny described their feud as “childish” and said, “A time comes when you forget everything that happened and you understand that that should not have happened as that was childishness.”
