The suspenseful film is tentatively titled "A Train from Chaprola" and is set to commence shooting in September in Uttarakhand.
According to a source close to the project, "A Train from Chaprola" revolves around a tight murder mystery, with Radhika Apte portraying the character of a strong and confident modern woman with intricate layers beneath her surface. Tisca Chopra has penned the script herself, adding her creative touch to the intriguing storyline. Although the leading male actor is yet to be finalised, Radhika Apte's presence in the project promises an engaging and captivating performance, reported Pinkvilla.
Interestingly, the film was initially offered to Kareena Kapoor Khan, but she politely declined the offer due to her involvement in another murder mystery film, directed by Hansal Mehta, which is scheduled for release later this year.
The movie "A Train from Chaprola" will be produced by renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra under his banner, Stage 5. This marks his entry into the world of film production, and he has ambitious plans with three upcoming projects in collaboration with Jio Studios.
The first project, starring Radhika Apte and directed by Tisca Chopra, will go into production in September. Malhotra's second production, titled "Bun Tikki," is a heartwarming tale centered around a father-son relationship, directed by Faraz Arif Ansari. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Abhay Deol, Shabana Azmi, and Zeenat Aman, and is scheduled to begin shooting in October. For his third venture, titled "Chalat Musafir," Manish Malhotra has chosen the talented actor Vijay Varma to play the lead role. The film will be directed by Vibhu Puri, known for his work in "Hawaizaada."
As for Radhika Apte, her upcoming projects include a cameo appearance in Sriram Raghavan's film "Merry Christmas," featuring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. She is also rumored to be working on an international project, details of which are being kept under wraps.
Tisca Chopra at the moment is busy with her acting commitments, with a slate of exciting projects ahead. She will be seen in Abbas Mustan's Netflix film "Penthouse," Homi Adajania's "Muder Mubarak," and Disney+Hotstar's horror series called "Fear 1.0."
