The much-anticipated trailer for Dhanush's 50th film, Raayan, has finally been released, offering fans a glimpse of the actor in a fierce and intense role.

The movie, directed by Dhanush himself, is set to premiere in theaters on July 26.

The trailer introduces Dhanush in a powerful avatar, portraying the character Raayan. The opening scene shows a wounded Raayan being tended to by a family member, with blood streaming down his body. This is followed by an elder brother's analogy about the dangers of the jungle, comparing lions and wolves, highlighting the intelligence and pack mentality of wolves. These scenes are interspersed with visuals of armed goons.

The trailer also features Dhanush's Captain Miller co-star, Sandeep Kishan, along with SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in significant roles. SJ Suryah appears as Raayan’s rival, and Prakash Raj seems to play a pivotal character. Towards the end, Dhanush is seen on a relentless killing spree, accompanied by Sandeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram, all set to the melodious tunes of AR Rahman.

Promotional posters had previously shown Dhanush in a rugged and muscular look, standing before a painting of the goddess Kali, creating a striking visual where Kali’s multiple arms appeared as his own.

Raayan marks Dhanush's second venture as a director. His directorial debut was with Pa Paandi, where he also made an extended cameo. In Raayan, Dhanush takes on a full-fledged directorial role while also starring in the film.

The movie, produced by Sun Pictures, features music by AR Rahman. Om Prakash handles the cinematography, and Prasanna GK is in charge of editing.

Dhanush is involved in Kubera directed by Sekhar Kammula and another directorial project titled Nilavuku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, a multi-starrer romantic drama.
